ESPN’s Erin Andrews Stalker pleads to ‘stalking on steroids”.

erin andrews steroidsInterstate stalking is a Federal crime – essentially crossing state lines to stalk someone. Even worse, is when the stalker posts any video on the internet. Stalking itself is a terrible crime– interstate stalking is this crime on steroids.

The stalker in the Erin Andrews case Michael David Barrett just pled guilty to one count of interstate stalking. He will be sentenced on February 22, 2010 in Federal court. According to TMZ.com, Ms Andrews stated “I have nightmares about the sexual predator. I hope he never sees the light of day so no one else has to deal with this. He put the videos on the Internet for the world to see. I have been humiliated and embarrassed…”

TMZ.com further reported that Erin’s attorney Michael Grossman alleges that “there are well over a dozen other women who have been surreptitiously filmed and stalked by Mr. Barrett.”
He has 27 months exposure in this case pursuant to a plea.

Barrett’s attorney stated; “Mr. Barrett accepts full responsibility for his conduct. He apologizes to Ms. Andrews, and expresses his deep regret for his conduct that caused her so much pain. It is his sincere hope that these events can now become an opportunity to make positive changes in his life.”

My gut instinct is that any other women allegedly stalked by Mr. Barrett will come forward, and his opportunities to make positive changes are going to occur BEHIND bars.
